Wilson Electric was selected by Sundt Construction to provide electrical services for the new Canopy by Hilton hotel in the heart of downtown Tempe. The $60 million, 200-room hotel spans 14 floors and features a lobby-level café, a gym, more than 3,000 SF of meeting space, a rooftop pool and terrace bar, cabanas and a fire pit. Sundt Construction is building the hotel on behalf of Driftwood Acquisitions & Development and the project broke ground in May of 2018 with completion in November 2019.Canopy by Hilton is a lifestyle brand that embraces its locale, providing guests with authentic and unique local experiences. Each Canopy property is designed as a natural extension of its neighborhood with connections to local art, food, drink and culture.The electrical scope of services includes: installation of 2000A temporary power for construction phases of 14-story hotel complex, extension of 3000A APS utility to a new service section, provision and installation of a 250KW generator, with multiple transfer switches, installation of 2000A vertical distribution busway, (30) branch circuit panel boards, (12) dry type transformers, electrical services to (4) elevator cars, (2100) light fixtures, (188) guest room branch power and lighting installation, (3000) receptacles, (1300) lighting switches, 3D VDC (BIM) design and coordination. Wilson Electric’s low voltage division, Netsian Technologies installed the fire alarm system, low voltage communication cabling, access control and security.
Wilson Electric contracted with Penta Building Group to provide electrical services for the design-assist Gila River Santan Mountain Casino project located south of Chandler off the Hunt Highway. This 165,000 square foot facility includes room for over 850 slot machines and table games, 10,000 square feet of banquet hall space inside and a 20,000 square foot event courtyard outside, restaurant space, four-story parking garage with 770 spaces all on a 160-acre lot.
This project included a turn-key complete fire alarm system, grounding, and lightning protection system, along with the voice data system, security wiring, and complete sound system. The electrical system for the casino was comprised of two 3,600A SES with three 1-megawatt generators to produce a 100% complete backup system to keep the casino fully operational for any conditions. A 300kW and 750kW UPS systems keep all the data systems backed up and powered during any weather condition.
