Prescott Regional Airport Ernest A. Love Field
Wilson Electric was selected by Willmeng Construction/Fann Contracting joint venture to provide electrical services for the new 18,000 square foot terminal at the Prescott Regional Airport. The new terminal provides better passenger queuing space, more airline operating space, updated security processing for faster and more efficient screening, better facilities and more. The new passenger terminal opened in March 2021.
Salt Lake City International Airport
Wilson Electric was part of the massive $3.6 billion dollar Salt Lake City International Airport redevelopment program project. The project was so large that the electrical contractor, Ludvick subcontracted portions of the work. Our scope included all low voltage conduit, microduct and cable tray, for the terminal and gateway building sections with roughly 225,000 man-hours and over 1,000,000 feet of conduit and over 10,000 feet of cable tray. At the peak of the project, we had approximately 100 employees on-site. Building a new terminal complex is a massive undertaking and Wilson Electric’s team worked diligently early on to set this project up for success. The team utilized BIM in the field to effectively manage installation coordination on site. This large complex airport project has greatly benefited from this technology being directly in the hands of the craftsmen. When complete, the new Salt Lake City Airport building replaces the existing two terminals and the International Arrivals Building.
Phoenix Sky Train Stage 2
The PHX Sky Train Stage 2-FF Make Ready Work project involved the installation of over 5,000 feet of new fiber duct bank for use by the City of Phoenix and PSHIA to relocate their fiber runs throughout the airport to make way for the completion of the PHX Sky Train guideway installation. Scope was added to include lighting, security gates and power for new parking areas for bus maintenance facility and the West Economy Lot parking area, as well as other miscellaneous relocations of electrical systems. The Phoenix Sky Train Stage 2-FF project also involved the installation of electrical systems to three different job site trailer complexes. This work involved trenching power and communications to the trailers as well as adding network cabling and specialty power requirements to the office trailers once the contractor moved in their office equipment.
Scottsdale Airport Hanger

Wilson Electric was selected to provide electrical services for a new 17,208 square-foot hanger for Michael Bidwell, owner of the Phoenix Cardinals. The project scope contains a maintenance area and amenities including a jet fuel island and associated external lighting for the building, walkways and parking lot as well as access gates. The project included close coordination with Scottsdale Airport personnel and working alongside active jet taxiways. Scottsdale Airport, a premier general aviation airport, is an important economic asset for Scottsdale and the region contributing hundreds of millions of dollars in economic output. The Scottsdale Airpark, the second largest employment center in Arizona, surrounds the airport and features taxi lane access to the airport from private facilities through secured gates.

Southwest Airlines Operations Hanger Facility
This 141,420 square foot ground up project consists of a 39K square foot two-story support building, and an 88K square foot new hangar to be used to maintain the new 737 MAX airplanes in the Southwest Airlines fleet. We were responsible for the on-time installation of a complete electrical system with a complete 400HZ maintenance work area, a UL listed lightning protection system, and a complete integrated turnkey fire alarm system including foam suppression system for the new hangar. The building is being fed from a newly designed APS medium voltage power loop from the Sky Harbor Blvd. source around through the east economy rental car garages to feed two new 480V SES’s to power the new hangar and the new support building. Emergency power is being handled through portable generator hook-up stations tied to the building electrical system. We also performed the complete public address and communications system install for both buildings.
Tucson International Airport
Concourse Renovation & Terminal Expansion – In 2004, we completed two separate projects for the Airport: a 75,000-square-foot remodel and 88,000 square-foot ground-up expansion. The renovation and expansion of the 75,000-square-foot ticketing area, baggage claim, and central power plant were designed to handle an estimated eight million arriving and departing passengers. The expansion totaled 88,000 square feet, and included a new roadway and rental car complex. It was constructed in two separate phases to keep the terminal in complete operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Phoenix Airport Skytrain Project
Construction began in late 2008 for the LEED-certified Maintenance and Storage Facility and Stage 1 of the guideway installation. The guideway will travel from 44th St to the East Economy parking structure to Terminal 4. Expected to be complete by 2020, SkyTrain is planned to link to all airport terminals and the Rental Car Center. Using Bombardier APM 20 vehicles, this is the second installation in the United States for such models after the Skylink Automated People Mover at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, and the third installation worldwide following Terminal 5 at London-Heathrow International Airport. Bombardier Transportation selected Wilson Electric to provide Design-Build electrical construction services for Phase I of the project. Wilson Electric was awarded Phase IA in March 2013.
